Jamie Preiss (pronounced Price) joined the University of Michigan Strength and Conditioning team as a fellow in the fall of 2012. Now as a strength and conditioning coach, Preiss is currently responsible for the program design and implementation for women's basketball and women's golf.
Prior to his current role, Preiss spent two years as a fellow and two years as a graduate assistant with the Michigan Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning department. Additionally, he was a volunteer intern for the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning department at the University of Notre Dame from June through August 2012.
While at Michigan, Preiss has also worked with men's gymnastics, men's tennis, men's lacrosse, and assisted with volleyball and wrestling. In his seven seasons as the strength and conditioning coach for women's basketball, Preiss has helped lead the program to 5 NCAA tournament appearances, 2 NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and Michigan Women's basketball first NCAA Elite 8 appearance in 2022. He was also a part of 2 NCAA Finals appearances for the Women's golf program and the programs first Big Ten Championship in 2022.
He holds a Master of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and completed his Bachelors of Science degree at Central Michigan University. Preiss is currently certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and by USA Weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach.
