2004 U-M Football Schedule
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan athletics director Bill Martin announced today (Wednesday, Aug. 6) that San Diego State University has agreed to fill the open spot on the 2004 Michigan football schedule. The Wolverines and Aztecs will play for the first time on Sept. 18 at Michigan Stadium.
"We are pleased to have completed our 2004 football schedule with a quality school like San Diego State," said Martin. "Playing a West Coast school will provide great television exposure for our fans, alumni and potential recruits in that area of the country."
This will be the second time that Michigan faces a school from the Mountain West Conference but the fifth different time that the Wolverines play a team that currently is a member of the conference. Utah, which U-M defeated 10-7 in 2002, is the only school Michigan has played since the development of the league. The Wolverines played games against Air Force (1-0), Brigham Young (0-1) and Colorado State (1-0) when they were affiliated with the Western Athletic Conference.
