ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team (No. 24 AP, No. 23 USA Today) will be in action on Monday (Nov. 10), hosting Wayne State in exhibition action at 7 p.m. at Crisler Center.
The Wolverines game against the Warriors will be live and part of the BTN Plus online programming. U-M student produced by Glenn Miller, David Carlson will provide the play-by-play, and will be joined by analyst Derek Heitman and sideline reporter Annie Sabo. The game will be replayed on BTN on Tuesday (Nov. 11) at 9:30 p.m.
Fans not in attendance can follow the game via GameTracker on MGoBlue.com or listen live through the TuneIn app from the IMG Sports Network as well as WWJ-Radio (950 AM) in Detroit and W4 Country (102.9 FM) in the Ann Arbor area.
Head coach John Beilein is entering his eighth season after having put together four straight NCAA Tournament appearances with back-to-back trips to the Elite Eight. Led by Preseason All-Big Ten player Caris LeVert, the Wolverines return two starters and eight letterwinners from a season ago when it went 28-9 and claimed the outright Big Ten regular-season title for the first time in 28 years.
Michigan lost seven players from an Elite Eight team a year ago, including graduates Jordan Morgan and Jon Horford as well as three Wolverines who were selected in the 2014 NBA Draft as Nik Stauskas (Sacramento Kings) and Mitch McGary (Oklahoma City Thunder) were taken in the first round, and Glenn Robinson III (Minnesota Timberwolves) was selected in the second round.
The Maize and Blue welcomes seven newcomers this season, including six freshmen: Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Kameron Chatman, Aubrey Dawkins, Ricky Doyle, Austin Hatch and D.J. Wilson. Michigan's other newcomer, sophomore Duncan Robinson, joins U-M after playing as a freshman at Division III Williams College and will sit out the 2014-15 season due to transfer rules.
Michigan opens the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 15, when the Wolverines host Hillsdale College at 2 p.m. Prior to tipoff, U-M will hold a pregame celebration ceremony with a banner raising for the 2014 Big Ten title.
