
Flaherty Named WBCA All-Region

ATLANTA, Ga. -- For the second consecutive season, junior Katelynn Flaherty of the University of Michigan women's basketball team was named to the WBCA All-Region 4 Team on Thursday (March 23). She is now eligible for the WBCA All-America team.
Flaherty is the first Wolverine in school history to earn the All-Region honor twice in a career. The junior is guaranteed to earn All-America honorable mention by her selection to the all-region team.
Flaherty is averaging 19.8 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting to go with 1.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She has scored in double figures 30 times this season and has 18 20-point games. Flaherty poured in a career-high 38 points at Ohio State (Jan. 7), hitting a school-record eight three-pointers in the process. She is once again near the top of multiple season records, including points (3rd, 655), three-pointers (3rd, 95) and field goals made (5th, 235). For her career, Flaherty is already the U-M leader in three-pointers (278) and second in points (1,928).
Flaherty was a consensus All-Big Ten first teamer for the second straight season, earning a unanimous selection by the coaches. She was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll five times and was picked for the Paradise Jam all-tournament team.
Michigan will face St. John's in the third round of the WNIT on Thursday (March 23) at 6 p.m.
