University of Michigan Hall of Honor
Mogk, Bill

Bill Mogk
- Induction:
- 2002
Bill Mogk had an outstanding four-year (1950-53) baseball career at Michigan and earned three varsity letters. Legendary baseball coach Ray Fisher asked Mogk to fill in many different gaps and play many different positions. Â Mogk played second base as a sophomore but moved to first base as a junior. During that year, he did not make a single error, becoming the first Wolverine to play error-less for an entire season. In December 1952, Mogk was elected by his teammates as the captain for the 1953 squad, which went on to win the College World Series.
