A three-time All-American, Brendan Morrison was the first Michigan player to win the Hobey Baker Award in 1997 as the best collegiate hockey player in the United States. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 1996 Frozen Four, a two-time CCHA Player of the Year and a three-time All-CCHA first team selection. Morrison helped the Wolverines claim four straight CCHA regular-season titles and three tournament crowns. In the 1996 NCAA Tournament in Cincinnati, Morrison scored the championship-winning goal three minutes and 35 seconds into overtime to defeat Colorado College, 3-2, and gave the Wolverines’ their first national title in 32 years. He concluded his Michigan career with a school-record 284 points. Morrison went on to play in the National Hockey League. He finished fifth in the Calder Cup Trophy (rookie of the year) balloting in 1999. Photo Gallery
