Dan Goldberg led Michigan men's tennis to the 1988 Final Four and earned three All-America honors during his illustrious career. A four-time NCAA Singles Championship participant, Goldberg finished runner-up in 1987 and reached the round of 16 in 1989. He earned All-Big Ten first-team honors in all four seasons and was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Year in 1988. Goldberg helped Michigan capture the 1988 Big Ten Championship and earned a top-300 ATP singles ranking in the same year. He was honored by the Big Ten in 1989 as the Big Ten Sportsman of the Year. He is one of two Wolverines in program history to win at least 40 singles matches in a season, going 42-9 in 1987. Goldberg remains the winningest singles player in men's tennis history, winning 127 matches over his four seasons. Goldberg also spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach for the Wolverines (1994-2005), helping U-M capture the 1996 Big Ten Championship.
