Dave Strack

Dave Strack is best known for his contributions to the Michigan basketball program. He played varsity basketball during for three seasons under Bennie Oosterbaan, earning MVP honor in two of those seasons and was team captain in 1946. As head basketball coach at Michigan, he guided the Wolverines to three straight Big Ten championships from 1964 to 1966. His 1964 squad finished the regular season 24-4, finished first in the final AP and UPI polls and made it to the NCAA finals. The UPI later named Strack Coach of the Year. Strack served as assistant to the Athletic Director at the University of Michigan from 1968 to 1972, when he was named Athletic Director at the University of Arizona.
