As a two-time All-Big Ten selection and a member of the 1965 Rose Bowl championship team, Frank Nunley was just beginning his career as a great football player when he left Ann Arbor. In 1967, Nunley was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round. Â During his 10 years with the 49ers, he was named to the All-Rookie Team, 49er most valuable defensive player three times and seven-time NFL defensive player of the week and was an All-Pro selection.
