A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Greg Meyer remains one of the most established runners in Michigan history. As a Wolverine in the mid-1970s, Meyer was a three-time cross country All-American, a three time All-Big Ten Selection and a track and field All-American in 1976. Meyer also captured the conference title in 3,000-meter steeplechase event as a freshman. He continued his career after Michigan, the highlight coming in 1983 when he conquered more than 10,000 competitors to capture the Boston Marathon. His time of 2:09.00 set a course record and was just 47 seconds off the world record. Photo Gallery ![]()
