Jack Clancy

Jack Clancy was a standout wide receiver on a predominantly run-oriented Michigan football team in the mid-1960s. Clancy started out as a quarterback and halfback on Bump Elliott’s Wolverine squad, but an injury in 1964 extended his career and allowed for a position shift. As a split end in 1965 and 1966, Clancy set the Michigan career receptions record, and in 1966 he was named an All-American and established the Big Ten record for catches in a season. He was also the first Michigan receiver to earn more than 1,000 yards receiving, and he set a standard of 1,077 that was not broken until nearly two decades later.
