John Sherf

One of the pioneers of Michigan hockey, John Sherf came from Calumet, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula to star for the Wolverine hockey squad from 1932 to 1935. Sherf was elected co-captain of the squad his senior year, and he led the 1934-35 Wolverines to the Big Ten championship while setting an individual conference scoring record as well. John was selected as a forward for the Midwestern Intercollegiate All-Star team in 1933 and 1934 and was chosen captain both years. During his varsity career, Michigan compiled a 32-13-4 record, including a 12-3-2 mark his senior season.
