Randy Erskine remains one of the finest golfers in Michigan history and received All-America honors three consecutive years at U-M. In his final year as team captain of the golf team, Erskine captured the Big Ten championship. After graduation, he became the Michigan Amateur champion and five-time Michigan Open champion and went on to complete on the PGA Tour from 1974-1979. He is the only player to have won every major state amateur and professional event in Michigan and was elected to the Michigan Hall of Fame in 1991.
