An extraordinary gymnast, Wendy Marshall Martin was a four-year letterwinner and a two-time Michigan co-MVP. In her 1993 freshman season, she earned All-Big Ten honors and was named an NCAA second team All-American on vault. In 1994, she earned NCAA second team All-America honors on vault and all-around and was named at U-M team MVP. In 1995, Marshall was named a NCAA first team All-American on beam, on vault and in the all-around. She also earned All-Big Ten Conference honors leading the Wolverines to their fourth consecutive Big Ten title. In the 1996 season, Marshall Martin concluded her decorated career with a first team All-America finish on beam, on floor and in the all-around and earned All-Big Ten Conference honors.  She was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and received the Phyllis Ocker Award for excellence in Academics and Athletics.
