The University of Michigan women's cross country team boasted its best season ever in 1994, capturing its third consecutive Big Ten Conference championship, winning its second straight NCAA District IV title, and posting a best-ever second-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Freshman Deanna Arnill won the Big Ten individual title, with twin sister Pauline Arnill finishing fourth and senior Karen Harvey placing third. Deanna Arnill led the Wolverine runners at the district meet as well, finishing second overall.
At the NCAA Championships, a trio of Wolverines earned All-America status: Deanna Arnill, Pauline Arnill and senior Jessica Kluge. Deanna Arnill was the Wolverines' top runner once again, finishing 15th, with Pauline following in 22nd. Harvey placed 32nd, while Kluge was 34th.
Third-year head coach Mike McGuire grabbed double honors for the third straight year, earning the Big Ten Coach of the Year and NCAA District IV Coach of the Year awards.
