On Michigan coming away with a win
"I said to the team after the game that there are so many mistakes and yet you had to be here in the stadium to know how bad the weather was and about how their crowd got them into the game there in the second quarter when we made so many mistakes. But that's the kind of game when you don't have kids that don't have a lot of heart, they can fall apart and make some mistakes that will enable Iowa to increase their lead and make it hard for us, so I am proud of these kids."
On the Wolverine defense ...
"They were tremendous. There wasn't any question about it. To shut a team out in their own stadium and they had some good field position particularly in the first half. I thought we cut down on our mistakes but we've got to correct all the mistakes. We are just making too many mistakes to be the kind of team we want to be, but we can build on this. We have a week off and we've got a lot of guys banged up so I think this week off will help us too."
On playing tough on the road ...
"We had heard that the weather conditions were going to be bad. I told them there are a couple of things -- if Iowa get some breaks, that will keep them in the game or if we don't play like we're capable of, that will keep them in the game. If that happens, the crowd will be a key factor and we're going to have to find a way to win it at the end. I was hoping that we would have a chance to put them away and we didn't do that because after a tremendous drive to open the game we began to self-destruct. I told them at the half, we played worse today in the first half than we did a year ago in the first half but today we were only two down."
On quarterback Tom Brady ...
"Tom had some balls dropped. Mark (Campbell) dropped a pass that would have given us a first down. His first interception went right through Marcus Knight's hands. The ball was very difficult to handle, so considering the elements I thought that he hung through there in adversity and found a way in those last two drives to take some time off the clock, in the last one and, as you said, he made a big throw to Tai Streets to allow us to keep the ball the last time and wind the clock down."
