Wolverines End Streak Against State with 2-1 Win

Michigan State (6-2-2, 5-2-2 CCHA) opened the scoring with a power-play goal from Mike York at the 9:55 mark of the first period, but Michigan's special teams keyed a comeback when Dale Rominski (Farmington Hills, Mich.) scored a short-handed goal to tie the game at 1-1 at the 14:33 mark of the same period.
After a scoreless second period filled with 14 penalties, Langfeld put the Wolverines (7-2-1, 6-1-1 CCHA) on top for good with his sixth goal of the season (and fourth in three games) 11:05 into the final period. The power-play goal was Michigan's seventh in its last 20 chances (35.0 percent).
U-M freshman goaltender Josh Blackburn (Choctaw, Okla.) made 17 saves on 18 MSU shots for his seventh win of the season (7-1-1). Michigan State goaltender Joe Blackburn made 21 saves in the loss.
The Wolverines return to action tomorrow (Nov. 21) with a game against CCHA-leading Notre Dame. The starting time is 7 p.m. at Yost.
