Michigan Takes Fourth at Cliff Keen Invitational

PRIMM, Nev. -- The 25th-ranked University of Michigan wrestling team turned in an impressive performance at the 17th annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Wrestling Tournament, held Friday and Saturday (Dec. 4-5). Five individuals placed in the top eight as the Wolverines accumulated 90.5 points and finished fourth behind Illinois (123), Oregon State (119) and Arizona State (109).
Two Wolverines topped Michigan's efforts with third-place finishes: senior Chris Viola (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch HS) at 125 pounds and junior Joe Warren (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Kentwood HS) at 133 pounds. Senior 174-pounder Otto Olson (Everett, Wash./Everett HS) and junior 141-pounder Damion Logan (Garfield, N.J./St. Joseph Regional HS) also finished in the top five, taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
In total, 43 teams competed in the tournament, including Illinois and Ohio State from the Big Ten Conference.
Michigan will open its Big Ten and dual meet schedule when the Wolverines host Michigan State on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Crisler Arena.
