One-on-One Sports, Inc. Join U-M in National Radio Agreement

"With the largest and most widespread alumni base in the country and added excitement from the 1997 national championship, we are certain that One-On-One's national radio broadcasts will be well received by fans throughout the country," said Tom Goss, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Michigan.
"This agreement ensures Michigan fans the opportunity to listen to live coverage wherever they are," Goss added. "It will also increase the scope of our national recruiting effort and is just another step in our publicity effort for all sports. As the top collegiate licensed school in the country, we expect this partnership to only strengthen the school's exposure."
During the first year of the agreement, One-On-One Sports will have the right to air a minimum of six Michigan football games on the network's owned and operated stations in New York (WJWR-AM 620), Chicago (WIDB-AM 950), Los Angeles (KCTD-AM 1540) and Boston (WNRB-AM 1510). Games will also be offered to all of One-On-One's 380 affiliate stations. Subsequent years will provide the University of Michigan with an option for a full 12-game schedule on the network. Game broadcasts will include pre- and postgame programming in addition to play-by-play coverage.

One-On-One Sports will broadcast six games during the 1998 regular season: at Notre Dame (Sept. 5), vs. Syracuse (Sept. 12), vs. Michigan State (Sept. 26), at Northwestern (Oct. 17), vs. Penn State (Nov. 7) and at Ohio State (Nov. 21).
The broadcasts will carry the flagship feed from NewsTalk 760 WJR, the 50,000-watt clear channel Detroit radio station that has carried University of Michigan Football for the past quarter century. The announcing team of Frank Beckman, Jim Brandstatter and Dan Dickerson will now be heard across the country. The games can also be heard worldwide on the Wolverines official internet site.
