MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team opened Big Ten Conference play with a 1-0 double-overtime loss at Wisconsin on Friday night (Sept. 18). The Wolverines fall to 5-1 overall, 0-1 in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin's Mara Miller beat Michigan keeper Carissa Stewart (Topsham, Maine/Mt. Ararat HS) at the 115:39 mark to hand the Wolverines their first loss of the season. The Badgers outshot Michigan 13-10 in the match.
Michigan continues Big Ten action Sunday (Sept. 20) at Northwestern at 1 p.m. CDT.
