Michigan's Lloyd Carr posted a victory in his 50th career game as the Wolverines head coach. Carr has won each of the games ending in a zero during his career (see chart below). He has a 39-11 career record and is 25-7 against Big Ten competition. The 45-31 victory over 11th-ranked Arkansas raised his bowl record to 2-2, and he has a 15-7 record against ranked opponents during his four-year career as the Wolverines coach.

Wolverines Even Bowl Record
With its 45-11 victory over Arkansas, the University of Michigan football team evened its all-time bowl record at 15-15. The Wolverines have won two straight bowl games under head coach Lloyd Carr, and the program has claimed victories in nine of its last 14 bowl games.
Double-Digit Victory Total for Second Straight Year
The Michigan football team reached double digits in wins for the second consecutive year. It is the 21st time in the history of the program that the Wolverines have reached 10 or more wins in a season.
Thomas Named Citrus Bowl MVP
Sophomore running back Anthony Thomas (Winnfield, La./Winnfield HS) was named the CompUSA Florida Citrus Bowl Most Valuable Player. Thomas received the recognition after gaining 132 yards on 21 carries and scoring three rushing touchdowns. Thomas finished his sophomore year with 900 yards rushing on 167 attempts. He scored 15 rushing touchdowns on the year, second all-time in season records behind Ron Johnson (19 TDs in 1968).
Sword Named Team's Defensive MVP at Citrus Bowl
Senior linebacker Sam Sword (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill HS) led the team in tackles against Arkansas, collecting 11 tackles (nine solo, two assists) in his final Michigan game. He was named the Michigan Defensive Player of the Game in a vote by the Citrus Bowl media. Sword reached double digits in tackles for the seventh time this year and 20th time in his career. He closed out his career by leading the team in tackles for the third straight season as he collected 124 tackles this year (91 solo, 33 assists). Sword finished his Michigan career eighth in all-time tackles with 377 stops.
Jansen Sets Career Starts Record
Senior co-captain and right tackle Jon Jansen (Clawson, Mich./Clawson HS) set Michigan's career starts record in the Citrus Bowl game against Arkansas. Jansen made his 50th career starting assignment, breaking a tie with defensive tackle Mark Messner (1985-88).
Streets Hits 1,000-Yard Mark
Senior wide receiver Tai Streets (Matteson, Ill./Thornton Township HS) became the fourth player in school history to reach the 1,000-yard mark in season receiving yards. Streets surpassed the plateau on the Wolverines' touchdown drive to end the first half. He caught a 21-yard pass from junior quarterback Tom Brady (San Mateo, Calif./Serra HS) on the drive that set up the team's first-and-goal. Streets caught four passes for 96 yards in the first half and finished the game with seven receptions for 129 yards. He completed his senior year with 67 catches for 1,035 yards and 11 receiving TDs.
Gold Mining for Six
Junior linebacker Ian Gold (Belleville, Mich./Belleville HS) scored his first career touchdown on a 46-yard interception return in the second quarter. A converted running back, Gold has played linebacker the last two years. He finished the game with seven tackles (four solo, three assists) and one tackle for loss. Gold finished the year third in tackles with 69 stops despite missing four games due to injury.
