Women Back on Track
After the Michigan women's cross country team tied for fourth place at the Sam Bell Invitational, coach Mike McGuire and the Wolverines wanted to come back and defend their title as the Michigan Intercollegiate champions. Michigan retained its crown for the third consecutive year winning an unprecedented 12th state intercollegiate Oct. 8 at the Mill Race Golf Course in Jonesville, Mich.
The win also gave the Wolverines their second invitational title in three races this season. The first title won was at the Spiked Shoe Invitational on Sept. 25.
-- Lisa Ouellet (Sudbury, Ontario/Lasalle SS) is still finishing on top. For the fourth consecutive race, Ouellet was the Wolverines' top finisher, placing second at the Michigan Intercollegiate.
