Michigan Wins Fifth Straight Murray Keatinge Title

For the second consecutive week, senior Jay Cantin (Camlachie, Ontario/St. Clair SS) was the Wolverines' top finisher, placing first with a time of 24:21.16. Following tenths of a second behind were senior Steve Lawrence (Consecon, Ontario/East Northumberland SS) in second place at 24:21.48 and junior Mike Wisniewski (Temperance, Mich./Bedford HS) in third place at 24:21.80.
Rounding out the scoring places were sophomore Mark Pilja (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) in fifth place with a time of 24:30.41 and junior John Butsic (Iron River, Mich./West Iron County HS) crossing the finish line at 24:53.12 for ninth place.
Today's win marked the second invitational title this season for Michigan, which won the adidas/Notre Dame Invitational last week (Oct. 1) in South Bend, Ind.
The men will continue their season at home next Sunday (Oct. 17) with the Wolverine Interregional at 10 a.m. at the U-M Golf Course.
