Michigan Captures Four Championships at MSU Open

Junior Otto Olson (Everett, Wash./Everett HS), the No. 1-ranked 174-pounder, cruised to his second individual championship in as many weeks. Senior Joe Warren (Grand Rapind, Mich./East Kentwood HS) and junior Damion Logan (Garfield, N.J./St. Joseph HS) started their seasons off with championships at 133 and 141 pounds, respectively, and redshirt freshman Anthony Holifield (Mt. Morris, Mich./E.A. Johnson HS) won his 157-pound weight class.
Finishing in second place were freshman Foley Dowd (Howell, N.J./Peddie School), who squared off against Warren at 133, and sophomore Andy Hrovat (Gates Mills, Ohio/St. Edwards HS) at 184 pounds. In fifth place for the Wolverines were junior Mat Warner (Clayton, Mich./Hudson HS) at 125 and redshirt freshman Dan Seder (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) at 149.
"I thought we were very competitive," said head coach Joe McFarland. "They were getting after it, and that is important to me. I certainly saw what I wanted. These guys are wrestling the way I like them to wrestle."
