Michigan Ranked Seventh in Preseason Coaches' Poll

Florida State begins the 1999 football season as the preseason No. 1, with defending national champion Tennessee second, Arizona third, Penn State fourth and Florida rounding out the top five.
The Wolverines will face five preseason top 25 ranked teams during the year, beginning with No. 18 Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 4 (3:30 p.m. kickoff in Michigan Stadium). The slate will also include games against four Big Ten teams in the rankings: No. 10 Wisconsin (Sept. 25), No. 23 Purdue (Oct. 2), No. 4 Penn State (Nov. 13) and No. 9 Ohio State (Nov. 20).
