No. 6-ranked Wisconsin took the team title for the second straight season, with 45 points. The Badgers had the two top finishers, including individual champion Jason Vanderhoof. This is the third straight year that Wisconsin has boasted the individual champion.
Pilja's streak of three consecutive individual meet titles this season came to end with his fourth-place finish. However, by placing in the top seven overall, Pilja did receive All-Big Ten First Team honors. The next highest finisher for the Maize and Blue was freshman Thomas Greenless (Milford, Mich./Milford HS), who took 29th.
Michigan will return to action in two weeks on Saturday (Nov. 11) when they go to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Ypsilanti, Mich. The men's 8,000-meter race starts at noon.
