This Week
The No. 13-ranked Michigan women's cross country team travels to South Bend, Ind., this Friday (Oct. 6) for the Notre Dame Invitational. This will be the toughest test for the harriers thus far with many top-ranked teams competing. Among the teams that will be there are: No. 1-ranked Stanford, No. 5 North Carolina State, No. 15 Arizona, No. 24 Duke, No. 25 Ball State, and host school Notre Dame.
Last Meet Results
Michigan won a team title for the third week in a row when it took the title at the William & Mary Tribe Interregional on Saturday (Sept. 23). With 45 points Michigan edged out runner-up North Carolina (91) to win the team title out of 11 teams.
Senior Katie Jazwinski (Grand Rapids, Mich./West Catholic HS) led the way with a second-place finish in a time of 17:43.1. Junior Katy Radkewich (Hudson, Ohio/Beaumont HS) also was among the top five, coming in fourth (18:04.3). Radkewich's time was her career best while at Michigan.
Three in a Row
The Wolverines' team title at the William & Mary Invitational (Sept. 23) was their third straight title of the season. Last year, Michigan won back-to-back titles at the Michigan State Invitational and Spiked Shoe Invitational. The last time Michigan won three straight was 1998, when it won five consecutive team titles to start the season.
On a Tear
Senior Katie Jazwinski keeps her momentum going into the toughest meet of the season this weekend (Oct. 6) at the Notre Dame Invitational. Jazwinski has two first-place titles this year (Miami Invitational, Sept. 9, and Spiked Shoe Invitational, Sept. 16) and one runner-up finish (William & Mary Invitational, Sept. 23). The Notre Dame Invitational is a 5,000-meter run, in which her best time this season is a 17:42 mark (Miami Invitational).
Michigan in the Polls
The Wolverines were idle last weekend and moved down two spots to 13th in the latest FinishLynx NCAA Division I poll (Oct. 2). There are three Big Ten Conference teams represented this week, with Wisconsin the No. 8 team and Minnesota ranked 9th in the nation.

Up Next ...
The Michigan women and men's cross country teams will be hosting the Wolverine Interregional next Sunday (Oct. 15) on the U-M Golf Course. The women's race is a 5,000-meter run which will start at 10:30 a.m.
