Pittenger Named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week

Pittenger led Michigan to back-to-back wins over ranked opponents for the first time this season, with victories over No. 25 Michigan State (Nov. 8) and No. 13 Ohio State (Nov. 10). She recorded the first triple-double of her career in kills (17), assists (13) and digs (13) in the Wolverines' 3-2 win over No. 25 Michigan State last Wednesday (Nov. 8) at Cliff Keen Arena.
Pittenger also helped the Wolverines to a 3-0 win over No. 13 Ohio State on Friday (Nov. 10) at Cliff Keen Arena, with her team-leading 15th double-double of the season in kills (10) and digs (15). Pittenger currently leads the conference in digs (3.91 dpg) and is just 49 digs shy of reaching 1,000 for her career.
Pittenger and the Wolverines have won four straight Big Ten matches for the first time since 1997 and are 17-10 overall and 7-9 in the Big Ten with two weeks remaining in the regular season. Michigan second-year head coach Mark Rosen is looking to become the first Wolverine coach to guide Michigan to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
Michigan goes on the road this weekend with matches at No. 8 Minnesota on Friday, Nov. 17 (7 p.m. CST) and at Iowa on Saturday, Nov. 18 (7 p.m. CST). The Wolverines close out the regular season at home in Cliff Keen Arena with 7 p.m. matches against Wisconsin and Northwestern on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 24-25.
