Wolverines Swim Practice Round with No. 1 Texas

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The ninth-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team engaged in a six-event exhibition matchup with defending national champion Texas on Friday (Nov. 17) at Canham Natatorium. The teams will face each other tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 18) at noon for a scored dual meet.
Chris Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg HS) and Mike O'Connor (Harper Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North HS) had strong performances for the Maize and Blue, finishing 1-2 in the 1,650-yard freestyle with times of 15:11.09 and 15:47.36, respectively.
The 400-yard individual medley also saw a 1-2 Michigan finish as Dan Ketchum (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore HS) and Jason Mallory (Granger, Ind./Penn HS) boasted times of 3:56 and 3:56.16, respectively.
