Beitel Invited to Prestigious Umbro All-Star Classic

Beitel and the other members of the Central squad will take to the field on Thursday, Feb. 1, when they face the East team at the Lauderhill Sports Complex at 9 a.m.
A co-captain of the 2000 team, Beitel became the Wolverines' career scoring leader, finishing with 114 points. During the 2000 season, Beitel accumulated numerous awards and honors, including selection to the NSCAA Division I All-Great Lakes Region First Team and Soccer Buzz Great Lakes All-Regional Team.
Beitel set a school record with eight points in the match against Butler (Oct. 29) and became the first Wolverine to score three goals in two games (the first vs. Illinois in 1997).
A member of the 2000 All-Big Ten First Team and Big Ten All-Tournament team, Beitel led the Big Ten in assists (13) and led the Wolverines in goals (10, tie-5th in Big Ten), assists and points (33, 4th in Big Ten).
