Wolverines Blank Spartans for First Big Ten Victory

Michigan earned the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots in the lineup, and claimed all six singles matches to win its 13th consecutive match against Michigan State.
Michigan returns the court Wednesday afternoon (March 29, 4 p.m.) against No. 12 Notre Dame at the Varsity Tennis Center. The Wolverines will host No. 28 South Florida (Friday, March 31, at 6 p.m.) and Marquette (Sunday, April 2, at 1 p.m.) to close out next week's non-conference slate.

-- Senior co-captain Danielle Lund (Leominster, Mass./Leominster HS) claimed her 10th singles victory of the season, beating Natasha Skogerboe in straight sets (7-5, 6-0). Lund has a 5-2 dual match record at the No. 2 spot and owns a 10-6 overall mark.
-- Senior co-captain Brooke Hart (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS) remained unbeaten in Big Ten Conference dual match action. Hart has a 4-0 conference record and boasts an impressive 8-3 dual match mark at the No. 1 spot. Hart leads the team with a 17-7 overall record.
-- Freshman Joanne Musgrove (LaSalle, Ontario/Sandwich HS) and juniors Marya Farah (Linden, Mich./Powers Catholic HS), Szandra Fuzesi (Budapest, Hungary/Balassi Balint Gimnazium) and Alison Sinclair (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins HS) each claimed her first Big Ten Conference dual match victory of the season in today's match.
