Anthony Carter to Enter Michigan Sports Hall of Fame

Carter, who played at U-M from 1979-82, is Michigan's all-time leading receiver, with 161 receptions for 3,042 yards and 37 touchdowns. He lists second all-time at Michigan in career all-purpose yardage with 305 attempts for 5,799 yards. Carter starred for the Michigan Panthers of the USFL and played nine seasons for the NFL's Minnesota Vikings and two years with the Detroit Lions before retiring from professional football.
Carter is the 17th former member of the Wolverine football program and 34th University of Michigan sports figure to be enshrined in the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame.
The ceremony will be taped in its entirety for airing on UPN-50 on Sunday, June 11. WJR-760 AM Sports Wrap will broadcast "live" from the event, as will many local 6 p.m. sportscasts.
