Carr, U-M Agree to Contract Extension Through 2005

"He has served the University with dedication and success for 20 years as an assistant and head coach," added Martin. "This contract brings Lloyd's compensation into line with national and Big Ten peers. "
Carr's base salary will remain at $287,000. He will also be compensated for additional services, including media appearances, in the amount of $565,000 for the upcoming year and $765,000 in subsequent years of the contract. The contract brings Carr's compensation into line with his national and Big Ten Conference peers.
Carr's contract also includes a provision that will set aside an additional $55,000 to be distributed among the football staff. "Lloyd believes this is important to the success of the Michigan Football program," said Martin. "These monies will allow Lloyd to keep a competitive staff here at Michigan."
In addition, Carr will continue to contribute $50,000 a year to the University of Michigan Athletic Scholarship Endowment Fund.
