Bowers, Talbot Compete at USWAPL Championship

Bowers played well in stroke play, using a first-round total of 74 and a second round of 71 for a 145 championship total to tie for ninth and advance to the 64-individual match play bracket. However, Bowers was eliminated in the first round of match play on July 7, falling 3 and 2 to Christine Anast of Littleton, Colo.
Talbot opened the championship with a first round total of 79 and followed that with a second round of 85 for a 164 championship total. Her total did not qualify her for match play.
Each player earned enty in the USWAPL by winning medalist honors at her respective qualifying site. Talbot carded a 77 on June 2 at the Carrington Golf Club in Detroit, while Bowers fired a 75 at the Legends of Indiana on June 8 in Indianapolis.
