U-M Finishes Fourth at Central Collegiate Championship

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Using a young lineup that included eight freshmen among its 10 runners, the No. 17-ranked Michigan men's cross country team came in fourth in the Central Collegiate Championship on Friday (Sept. 29). No. 25 Eastern Michigan won the seven-team meet with 28 points, edging out the host Central Michigan (56 points).
Michigan was led by freshman David Sage (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston HS), who finished 14th with a time of 25:35. The Wolverines had three other top-20 finishers, including freshman Tom Greenless (Milford, Mich./Milford HS) (16th, 25:44.00), senior/junior Nate Hoffman (Allegan, Mich./Allegan HS) (18th, 25:52.00) and redshirt freshman Aaron Lindell (Corunna, Mich./Corunna HS), who finished 19th with a time of 25:52.00.
Michigan's next meet is the Murray Keatinge Invitational next Saturday (Oct. 7) at 11 a.m. in Orono, Maine.
