Crisman Leads Wolverines to Victory Over Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio State 132-106 in Big Ten Conference action Saturday (Jan. 20) at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center. The Wolverines won eight of the 13 events.
The Maize and Blue's senior class led the way as captain and senior All-American Jennifer Crisman (Hudsonville, Mich./Jenison HS) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.52 and the 100-yard freestyle at the 51:05 mark. Senior All-American Missy Sugar (Newburgh, Ind./Evansville Day School) took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.54) and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (53:22) behind Crisman.
Sara Johnson (West Bloomfield, Mich./Lahser HS) took first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.22 as well as finishing third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.66). Sophomore Jenay Karlson (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) and Lindsay Johnson (Oxford, Mich./Marion HS) finished 1-2 in the 1,650-yard freestyle with times of 17:06.62 and 17:14.92, respectively.
Freshman Tealin Kelemen (Riverton, N.J./Moorestown Friends School) placed first in the one-meter diving event with an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 268.50.
The Wolverines (4-3, 4-1 Big Ten) travel to South Bend, Ind., on Friday (Jan. 26) to take on No. 18 Notre Dame. The dual meet begins at 5 p.m.
