Foreman helped hold Northwestern scoreless while assisting on both goals in a 2-0 road win over the Wildcats last Saturday (Oct. 27), establishing a school record for career assists in the process. Foreman, who has 58 career helpers, broke a tie for the top spot with Courtney Reid (56, 1997-2000).
The award is the fourth Big Ten Player of the Week honor for the Wolverines this season. Sophomore defender Stephanie Johnson (Houston, Texas/The Kinkaid School) claimed the defensive laurel on two occasions, while freshman forward/midfielder Adrienne Hortillosa (Chula Vista, Calif./Bonita Vista HS) has earned the offensive honor once.
Michigan (13-4, 4-2 Big Ten), ranked fifth in the latest STX/NFHCA National Division I Coaches Poll, opens postseason play this weekend, traveling to Evanston, Ill., Friday through Sunday (Nov. 2-4) to participate in the Big Ten Tournament, hosted by Northwestern University. The Wolverines, seeded third in the event, will face the host school and sixth-seeded Wildcats at 2 p.m. CST on Friday at Lakeside Field on the Northwestern campus.
