Michigan Announces Three Early Signings for Baseball

"I'm very pleased with these players and I'm impressed with their potential as student-athletes," said Harrison following his first early signing period. "I think they will complement our returning players for the 2003 season."
Feldkamp, a member of Blissfield's state championship team in 2000, was 8-1 with a 0.67 earned run average as a junior in 2001 while hitting .387 with five homers and 45 runs batted in. His three-year career totals include a 25-6 pitching mark and 24 home runs. Feldkamp is one of just three players from the state of Michigan listed in Team One Baseball's ranking of the top 200 high school prospects in the nation.
McSoley, a high school teammate of current Wolverine sophomore catcher Jake Fox (Greenfield, Ind./Indianapolis Cathedral HS), has earned all-city honors the past three seasons. The three-time Indianapolis city champs captured the state championship (3A) last season.
Murray, was 7-1 with a 1.92 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 47 innings as a junior while earning All-Central Suburban South honors. He also earned all area and all region honors as the team won the conference title.

Derek Feldkamp, while playing third base and hitting third in the lineup as a sophomore in 2000, was 3-for-3 with three doubles in Blissfield's 3-1 state championship win in over Berrien Springs ... Feldkamp, a three-time all-county performer (Lenawee County), was an all-state first team infielder in 2000 and a second team all-state selection as a pitcher in 2001 ... An honor roll student, Feldkamp hit a homer vs. Saginaw Nouvel as a freshman in the 1999 state championship final game for a 4-3 fifth-inning lead in an eventual 5-4 loss.
Shortstop Joe McSoley hit .460 with 56 RBI as a sophomore and has driven in over 100 runs (109) in the past two seasons for the Irish ... McSoley, a high honors student, had a three-run double in Cathedral's 16-0 state championship final win vs. Griffith last season.
Pitcher/outfielder Craig Murray has played on a pair of conference championship baseball teams (1999 and 2001) ... Murray, winner of business student of the month honors, has twice been named to the Central Suburban Leadership Conference ... Murray has fanned 144 in 87 innings the past two seasons ... Murray tossed a no-hitter vs. Niles West as a sophomore.
