Gannon Honored by San Diego Hall of Champions

Gannon, who finished second on the team in scoring with 11 goals and six assists for 28 points, tallied a goal and an assist in the Wolverines' 2-0 win over No. 1 Maryland for the 2001 NCAA title (Nov. 18). In addition, she earned All-Big Ten Conference first team and STX/NFHCA All-West Region first team honors and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
Gannon's sister, Kelli, a member of the U.S. National Team and a three-time All-American for the Wolverines during her career (1997-2000), was inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions' Hall of Fame last year.
Michigan (18-5, 4-2 Big Ten) concluded the 2001 season by capturing the program's first NCAA championship, defeating No. 1 Maryland by a 2-0 margin on Nov. 18 in Kent, Ohio. The win gave the Wolverines their first national championship in a women's sport.
