Against Indiana last Friday, Mangieri won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle with times of 21.04 and 45.23, respectively. He also aided the 160.5-82.5 dual meet victory over the Hoosiers by swimming the anchor on the 200-yard medley relay that earned a first-place showing with a time of 1:32.98.
The following day, Mangieri racked up victories in the 50- (21.24) and 100-yard freestyles (45.23) in a 131-111 win over Georgia, to go along with competing on the top 200-yard medley relay team (1:32.98).
Mangieri has been one of the main reasons Michigan is off to its first 4-0 dual meet record since it won the NCAA national championship in 1994-95. So far in the 2001-02 season, Mangieri has won all seven individual races in which he has competed and he has been on three relay teams that finished in first place.
Michigan's next meet will be Friday through Sunday, Nov. 30-Dec. 2, at the Texas Invitational at Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.
