Four Wolverines Selected for All-Big Ten Honors

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Four members of the University of Michigan women's soccer team were honored at the Big Ten Conference Tournament Banquet on Thursday (Nov. 8).
Junior defender Amy Sullivant (Utica, Mich./Eisenhower HS) and junior forward Abby Crumpton (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) received All-Big Ten first team honors for the second time. Junior midfielder Carly Williamson (Barrington, R.I./Barrington HS) and sophomore goalkeeper Suzie Grech (Narbeth, Pa./The Shipley School) were named to the All-Big Ten second team.
Sullivant makes her second consecutive appearance on the All-Big Ten first team, while Crumpton received her first All-Big Ten first team citation in 1999 and was named to the second team last season.
Penn State's Christie Welsh was named Big Ten Player of the Year award for the second straight season, while Ohio State's Lisa Grubb was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. The Big Ten Coach of the Year award was shared this year by Ohio State's Lori Walker and Penn State's Paula Wilkins.
No. 20-ranked Michigan (12-6-1) was a 2-0 winner over Michigan State in the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday (Nov. 8) and will face Illinois at 1 p.m. Friday on the East Field of Purdue's Varsity Soccer Complex.
