ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's tennis coach Bitsy Ritt announced today (Wednesday, Dec. 5) the Letter-of-Intent signing of Debra Streifler (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park HS) for the 2002-03 academic year.
"We are pleased with the addition of Debra for next season," said Ritt. "Debra is an outstanding competitor who will make a significant contribution to our program. We look forward to Debra joining the team next year."
Streifler is ranked No. 77 in the USTA Girls 18-and-under national rankings and lists No. 14 in Midwest Girls 18-and-under seeding list. She won the Illinois state championship this year with partner Lindsey Goldstein.
Streifler will be the only signing for the Wolverine women's tennis program this year, as U-M loses only one player to graduation.
