Postponed Football Game Among U-M Schedule Changes

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- All University of Michigan athletics competition for the weekend of Friday through Sunday (Sept. 14-16) has been postponed or cancelled. Women's soccer has added a non-conference home game against Detroit on Monday (Sept. 17) at 4 p.m. at the U-M Soccer Field.
Teams scheduled to compete which will not include football, volleyball, field hockey, men's soccer, men's and women's golf, and women's cross country.
The football team's Saturday home game vs. Western Michigan was postponed on Thursday (Sept. 13) and rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22. The Big Ten opener against Illinois, which was scheduled for Sept. 22, has been pushed back a week to Sept. 29, which was originally an open date for both teams. Times for both games have not yet been determined.
The volleyball, field hockey, men's soccer, men's and women's golf and women's cross country competitions have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

Football
Michigan's home game against Western Michigan, which was scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 15) at Michigan Stadium, has been postponed and rescheduled for Sept. 22. » Postponement | Rescheduling
Women's Soccer
Michigan's scheduled trip to Connecticut for games at Hartford and UConn has been cancelled. The Wolverines added a contest against Detroit on Sunday (Sept. 16), then moved it to Monday (Sept. 17) at 4 p.m. at the U-M Soccer Field.
Field Hockey
Michigan's scheduled trip to Storrs, Conn., for games against Connecticut and Boston College in the Big East-Big Ten Challenge has been cancelled. The Wolverines added a home game against Central Michigan on Sunday (Sept. 16) and later cancelled it.
Men's Soccer
Michigan's game against Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo at the Louisville Invitational on Friday (Sept. 14) has been cancelled. A rearranged tournament schedule had U-M playing Alabama A&M on Saturday (Sept. 15) and Louisville on Sunday (Sept. 16) in Louisville, Ky., but the event was subsequently cancelled.
Volleyball
Michigan's match at Notre Dame which was postponed Wednesday (Sept. 12) will not be rescheduled. The Michigan Nike Invitational, scheduled for Friday and Saturday (Sept. 14-15) and involving U-M, Central Michigan, Montana and Virginia Tech, has been cancelled. The Wolverines' home match against Illinois State, which had been added on Saturday (Sept. 15) following the cancellation of the tournament, also has been cancelled.
Women's Cross Country
Michigan was scheduled to compete in the Spiked Shoe Invitational, hosted by Penn State University, on Saturday (Sept. 15). The meet has been cancelled.
Women's Golf
The Wolverines were slated to compete in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University, on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 15-16), but that tournament has been cancelled.
Men's Golf
Michigan was scheduled to compete in the PSI Net Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota, on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 17-18). That event has been cancelled.
Other Events
• The U-M Athletic Department Development Office's Endowed Scholarship Brunch, which was scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 15), has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
• The Michigan men's basketball program's reunion weekend, planned for Friday and Saturday (Sept. 14-15), has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
• The softball program's alumnae game, which was to be held Sunday (Sept. 16), has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
• Baseball tryouts at Ray Fisher Stadium have been postponed until Monday (Sept. 17) at 5:30 p.m.
