BRONX, N.Y. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team tallied 189 points to place seventh out of 22 teams at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 29) at Van Cortland Park.

Four Wolverine runners placed among the top 50, with sophomore Lindsey Gallo (Freehold, N.J./Howell HS) leading the way with a 24th-place finish after completing the 6,000 meters at 21:37.0. Redshirt freshman Andrea Parker (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) finished shortly after in 33rd (21:45.1) while senior Katie Ryan (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) and junior Jeanne Spink (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea HS) finished within three seconds of each other. Ryan's time of 22:07.9 was good for 45th place, with Spink coming in 48th at 22:10.8.

Boston College, which is ranked No. 12 in the nation, captured the team title with 31 points, followed by No. 23 Boston University (109) and Cornell (114). Michigan was the only member of the Big Ten Conference to compete in the meet.

The Wolverines' next meet will be at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 5, at 4:15 p.m. EST/CDT in South Bend, Ind.
