On the field, Carr has compiled an impressive 72-22 record during his eight seasons at the helm and has a 46-14 Big Ten Conference record. He has guided the Wolverines to six consecutive Jan. 1 bowl games, including a school-record four straight bowl wins from 1997 through 2000. Carr was named the 1997 national coach of the year after guiding the program to a perfect 12-0 record and the Associated Press national championship.
