Michigan is unbeaten in its last 14 games in an opponent's arena, sporting a 10-0-4 mark. U-M's last loss in an opponent's building was on Oct. 19, 2001, with a 3-1 setback at Western Michigan.
The Wolverines are unbeaten in their last 10 meetings with Wisconsin and own a 9-0-1 mark during that time. U-M has won the last four outings with the Badgers.
Michigan remained the all-time leader in wins at the College Hockey Showcase, recording its 13th. Entering the weekend, Michigan State was second with 11, followed by Minnesota (9) and Wisconsin (2).
The Wolverines are unbeaten in their last five road games during the College Hockey Showcase and are 5-0-1 away from Yost Ice Arena since the Showcase moved to campus sites in 1997.
U-M is 8-0-0 this season when winning by three or more goals. Only two of Michigan's victories -- 6-4 at Bowling Green on Nov. 8 and 4-2 vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 22 -- have been by fewer than three goals.
The Wolverines are 3-1-1 when giving up the game's first goal. Prior to tonight's contest, Michigan had scored first in each of the last four outings.
Michigan retained the nation's top penalty-killing unit, stopping all 10 of Wisconsin's power plays. U-M has not allowed a power-play goal in the last six games and is killing penalties at a .949 clip (74 of 78).
The Wolverines have scored five shorthanded goals this season. Three players have scored shorthanded, including two -- Dwight Helminen and Eric Werner -- with two markers each. U-M entered the game as one of only four teams in the nation with four or more goals when killing penalties.
Michigan has netted a power-play goal in six of the last seven games, including five straight.
Jeff Tambellini snapped a six-game goal-scoring drought with a marker tonight, his first since Oct. 26 vs. Alaska Fairbanks. Tambellini netted six goals in his first five games and then was held scoreless until tonight. In addition, Tambellini picked up his first point since Nov. 15 against Lake Superior, halting a three-game point drought, his longest of the season.
Eric Werner has 2-2-4 in his last four games, recording a point in three of those contests. Werner scored his second shorthanded goal of the season tonight and owns three in his career.
Sophomore defenseman Nick Martens (Ann Arbor, Mich.) has notched an assist in two of his last three games.
Dwight Helminen has notched an assist in each of his last three games, tying a season high. Helminen, who has 1-3-4 during that time, assisted on Werner's shorthanded goal and has been a part of three of U-M's five SHG this season. Helminen also tallied his eighth assist of the season, equaling his total from a year ago.
Sophomore forward Milan Gajic (Burnaby, B.C.) has posted 3-2-5 in his last five games, recording a point in all but one contest.
John Shouneyia, who has notched a point in five of his seven games since returning from injury, extended his point streak to three games with a goal tonight. Shouneyia, who has 2-1-3 during that time, is averaging over a point per game this season with 4-3-7 totals.
With an assist, Eric Nystrom posted a point in back-to-back games for the third time this season.
David Moss snapped a six-game goal-scoring drought and a five-game pointless streak with his goal tonight. Moss, with 4-7-11, has equaled his goal total from 44 games a year ago after only 13 appearances and is two points away from tying his total from last season (4-9-13).
Danny Richmond has an assist in three of his last four games, posting 0-3-3.
Jason Ryznar has notched an assist in two of his last four games since returning from injury, totaling 0-2-2.
