ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Junior Erin Moore (Tiffin, Ohio/Columbian HS), captain of the University of Michigan volleyball team, has received American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region honorable mention. She is one of two Wolverines ever to be recognized by the AVCA, joining 1997 All-District II selection Linnea Mendoza (1994-97).
| | Moore was second on the team in kills and blocks. |
Moore led the team with 23 matches in which she recorded 10 or more kills and was second in kill-dig double-doubles with 11. She led the team in kills seven times and in blocks 13 times. Her career-high nine blocks against Alabama (Sept. 13) helped her land a spot on the Nebraska U.S. Bank/Arby's Classic all-tournament team.
Moore was a member of the All-Big Ten Conference team and the preseason all-conference team. Her efforts against Illinois (Oct. 25) and Purdue (Oct. 26) helped her earn Michigan's first Big Ten Player of the Week honor since Alija Pittenger (1997-2000) received the recognition on Nov. 13, 2000.
The Wolverines (16-15, 10-10 Big Ten) finished the season with a loss to No. 22 Kansas State (Dec. 6) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Manhattan, Kan.
