Crumpton, Sullivant Named to All-America Second Team

DALLAS, Texas -- Senior Abby Crumpton (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) and Amy Sullivant (Utica, Mich./Eisenhower HS) of the University of Michigan women's soccer team have been named second-team All-America, the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America and adidas announced yesterday (Thursday, Dec. 12). Both players earned All-America billing for the first time in their careers.

A team tri-captain this year, Crumpton was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23. Crumpton, a first-team All-Great Lakes Region selection this season, scored 43 goals and accumulated 30 assists in 90 games as a Wolverine and holds the school record with 300 career shots.
Michigan's leading scorer among defenders with 42 points, Sullivant finished the 2002 season with two goals and a career-high 11 assists, for 15 points. Sullivant played and started in 22 games in 2002, tying for the career lead in both games played (91) and games started (89).
Sullivant was a first-team NSCAA/adidas All-Great Lakes selection this season and was named to Soccer Buzz magazine's Elite Team of the Week (Sept. 26) after tying a school record with three assists in one game against Illinois (Sept. 22).
Crumpton and Sullivant become the third and fourth Wolverines to earn NSCAA/adidas All-America honors, joining Amber Berendowsky (1996-99) and Erin Gilhart (1997) who were both second-team All-Americans in 1997.
