The victory was Michigan's first non-conference road win since Dec. 9, 1998, when the Wolverines beat Eastern Michigan 86-63 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Michigan won for the first time at Pauley Pavilion, improving its all-time record against UCLA to 2-7.
Michigan earned its first victory against a Pacific-10 Conference opponent since beating Arizona 73-71 in overtime on Dec. 21, 1996.
For the fifth straight game Michigan had at least three players score in double figures, with Daniel Horton scoring 24 and LaVell Blanchard and Bernard Robinson each netting 18. Dating back to last season, Michigan has had at least three players in double figures in 17 of its last 18 games.
Michigan started the game with freshman center Graham Brown, freshman guards Daniel Horton and Lester Abram, junior wing Bernard Robinson Jr. and senior tri-captain wing LaVell Blanchard.
The Wolverines began the day shooting 3-for-3 from three-point range with Bernard Robinson Jr., LaVell Blanchard and Daniel Horton connecting from downtown. The Maize and Blue ended the game hitting a season-best 11 triples against UCLA, going 11-22 from behind the three-point line. Michigan previous season high for triples was seven, accomplished four times.
Daniel Horton connected on his first three three-pointers and finished with a team-leading 24 points. The freshman finished 7-10 shooting from behind the arc for 70 percent.
Michigan shot a season-best 50 percent from three-point land (11-22), surpassing its previous best of 40 percent (6-15) against St. Bonaventure (Nov. 23).
With 24 points against the Bruins, Daniel Horton surpassed the 150-point plateau in his young career. Horton now has 160 points in his first year as a Wolverine.
Daniel Horton recorded his third 20-point game of his career, finishing with a team-best 24 points against UCLA.
Michigan earned its first win in the blue jerseys this season to improve its record to 1-2. Michigan is 2-2 in both its white and maize jerseys.
With 18 points against the Bruins, LaVell Blanchard is only one points shy of tying former Fab Fiver Juwan Howard (1992-94) for 13th place on Michigan's all-time scoring list. Howard tallied 1,526 points in his three years as a Wolverine. Eleven games into his senior year, Blanchard has 1,525 points.
Following an 18-point performance against UCLA, Bernard Robinson Jr. needs only five points to reach the 900-point mark in his three-year career.
