Crumpton, Sullivant Named to All-Great Lakes First Team

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Seniors Abby Crumpton (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) and Amy Sullivant (Utica, Mich./Eisenhower HS) of the University of Michigan women's soccer team have been named first-team All-Great Lakes Region, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday (Dec. 4). Crumpton, a forward, earned her second straight first-team mention and the third of her career. A defender, Sullivant returned to the team for the second consecutive season.

A team tri-captain this year, Crumpton was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23. Crumpton, a second-team All-Great Lakes Region pick after her sophomore season in 2000, scored 43 goals and accumulated 30 assists in 90 games as a Wolverine and holds the school record with 300 career shots.
Michigan's leading scorer among defenders with 42 career points, Sullivant finished the 2002 season with two goals and a career-high 11 assists for 15 points. Sullivant played and started in 22 games in 2002 and wound up tied for the career lead in both games played (91) and games started (89). Sullivant was named to Soccer Buzz magazine's Elite Team of the Week (Sept. 26) after tying a school record with three assists in one game against Illinois (Sept. 22).
Crumpton becomes the first Wolverine to garner three first-team honors in her career, while Sullivant becomes the third to have more than one first-team award in her career. Nine different members of the Maize and Blue have earned Great Lakes recognition in the nine-year history of varsity women's soccer at Michigan.
